Christmas and Bringing Baby Home

We finally came home from the hospital, and now Aleese is telling me I need to give better details of what happened. Barrick was born at 1:25 on DEC 23, 2007. He weighed in at a whopping 5 pounds and 3.8 ounces. After extensive workout he now is stable at 4 lbs. and 13 oz.

Born at NNMC (National Naval Medical Center) he was one of only seven babies born over the holiday. He came three weeks early when we found out Aleese was runnin on low fluids. They tried to induce her but after many many many hours decided it needed to be done by C-section.
C-sections are really cool. At least, to watch. Aleese will probably tell you it was not so cool. But then again, who is cooler?

This is our first family photo. Mark it well for this is the beginning of great things to come.....

Christmas morning. No we did not have a tree, but Santa placed presents in our Christmas shrine. Thanks Santa!

This was the best present of all!

Baby Barrick's first Christmas.

Barricks first attempt at acting. Science fiction is not for him. Ok, really he needed to be under the lights to fix his tan. Like the goggles?

Barrick with Grandma Nelson. Love the brow man!

The four of us hanging out at home. It was so nice to be home again.

Barrick and his Mommy look so cute together. I am jealous, let me in on the game.

Where did he get that hat? Looks familiar.....

Read the shirt, yeah thats right, just in time.

Well, I hope most of you have heard the news, but for those who have not, on December 23 we had a special surprise. Barrick Scott Stewart was born!!

This was the first picture I got of him. He is only 14 min. old here!

Here is Aleese when we first started (the baby was due Jan 7th, but due to low fluid we found out we were going to have him early)

Here is Aleese after 38 hours of Labor

Here is Aleese after the C-section was finished (baby was not handling the long labor very well)

Aleese finally gets to hold her baby!

What do you think, any resemblance?

He kept wanting to lay like this. They say babies like to curl up, but he loves putting his legs up, this is not a stretch! He keeps it this way!

Look what Santa put in our Christmas stocking!!

Here is another one of me and Barrick.......yeah, Aleese will have her hands full!

I know it looks like he is crying here, but really it is a yawn. Yeah, BIG mouth!!

So here is the whole family after the entire ordeal is over. We did it!! Also a few movies for your viewing pleasure.

December in Maryland

Yo Yo everyone this is Jam Masta funk Scotty (Aleese prefers me to just say Hi this is Scotty but I think that is boring), just wanted to say Merry Christmas from Maryland! Aleese and I finally got pictures of the Christmas tree and decorations. Yes, we still have those home-made, high quality Christmas stockings. See that big present in the back? Yeah it's for me.

I (Aleese says she had nothing to do with it) decided everyone deserved another chance to watch in amazement as Aleese manages to get bigger in the tummy yet maintain that oh-so-fine physical majesty I fell in love with.

This is her in our bedroom as we experimented with our new camera. Our old one finally gave out completely. So enjoy all the new photos!

We spend most of our time in the bed, not because we are lazy but because it is ooooh so comfortable. (And the better TV is in the bedroom!)

Our friends Brady and Lauren gave us this present for Christmas, and as you can see they included a little bit of my favorite beverage (Malta India). Oh, life is good.

Just one more of the hotness. Only three weeks to go until the world meets Mini Me.

Yesterday at school Scotty did some training exercises with helicopters and ambulances learning how to load patients for evacuation. They were supposed to be given helicopter rides around DC but they had to postpone it two weeks because of the weather but here are some fun pictures of what they did.

Scotty with Justin Lamb (from West Jordan) and Joe Kluesner (from Michigan) some of his friends at school.

Scotty with Chris Filak ( from Colorado) sitting in the helicopter.
This is them loading bodies on the helicopter, at the bottom is a fake body.

This last weekend we went hiking up this trail which was the Great Falls hike it was so beautiful and we had a blast!

Our camera batteries were low so we had to take the pictures quick before the camera would die so we ended up with some pretty funny pictures.

Scotty and I on the hike it was so pretty!!

Well for those of you who don't know for my birthday Scott and Valeri bought me tickets to fly home. I had a week full of fun with a baby shower that Valeri and Leslee planned for me. Halloween parties and lots of famly outings. It was so great to go home and see everyone in Utah. This whole month has just felt like a big party! On my birthday I thought it was just going to be another day with Scotty going to school and maybe we would do something that night or maybe that weekend but of course he always has something up his sleeve. I had a huge surprise I went to lunch with my friend Lauren and when we came back we walked in and Scotty and Laurens husband Brady had decorated our entire house and they had a surprise party for me I was completely shocked! Then after opening my present which was perfume; we all went to the Melting Pot one of our favorites for big occasions. Then two days later I got to go home for my birthday and once I got back we had one Halloween party after another. We have been so blessed with such amazing family and also friends who have become our family out here. Happy Halloween and everyone have a fun night!

Trip to Utah

Ashtyn and I at the Halloween party she planned for our nieces and nephews, it was fun because Scott and Valeri came down with Kalii and we had a fun night full of games pizza and fun!(Thanks Ash)

Everyone eating, then later we got Scotty on the web cam to talk to Gma and Gpa Stewart and they got the biggest kick out of it they couldn't believe that they could see him and talk to him across the country and that it was free.

Everyone sitting around eating and talking Leslee looks a little tired, we were up the night before till about two in the morning watching home videos.

Valeri giving me Scottys favorite Stuffed animal when he was a baby and the music box in it still works.
