11 months and one fun weekend!

Well to start off our fun weekend we were lucky enough to have my brother Austin in town! He lives in Texas so we only get to see them a couple of times a year so this was a big treat to have him all to ourselves. He was here for work, but was really only there for two half days so we got to spend a lot of time together! As you can see by the pictures Barrick LOVED spending time with Austin. Scotty was a little jealous because everytime Austin came home he got the same welcome Scotty usually gets. It is always so fun to have family come and love on Barrick since we don't get it that often.
Here is Barrick and Austin after he came home from work, and as you can see Barrick was a happy little guy once he came through the door.

Here is one of them playing together!

This is my favorite picture, kind of random but this is what Barrick did everytime Austin came through the door. He followed him everywhere! He was so happy to see him! As you can see he was pretty interested in what Austin had to say.
Along with all of the fun we had our first snow, of course it didn't stick and you can barely see the snowflakes but I thought Barrick looked cute all bundled up!

Also this weekend we all went to a neighbors house and watched the BYU/Utah game, and I have to say it couldn't have ended any better! We had so much fun! It was especially nice to have the support of Austin who is a former Ute and as big of fan as we are. We are outnumbered in our ward by so many cougar fans, so it was nice to have the victory! I wish I would have gotten pictures!

Then Sunday, we decorated our Christmas tree! It is our tradition to do it the Sunday before Thanksgiving and it was so much fun to have Barrick with us this year. He LOVED all of the decorations especially the lights he was in awe of them! He did not like the Christmas tree he thought it was poky. Here are some fun pictures of our night!

He was pretty excited about those lights!
Once the lights were all on the tree he lost interest and found his own form of entertainment. He pushed that box over and was climbing up and down it all night!

Of course to finish off the tree Barrick had to put the star up.
Here he is with the help of Daddy putting it on top of the tree!
Here is the final project minus the Christmas tree skirt! We had such a fun night!

Last just some fun things about Barrick at eleven months!

1-He loves Nilla Wafers he could eat them all day long! Every time I take them away he freaks out and starts screaming!

2-His favorite toy is a stuffed elephant my friend Deann gave to him. He takes it everywhere with him and hugs it all day.

3-He now understands what to do with the phone. Every time he is holding it and I say hello he puts it up to his ear.

4-He is pretty close to walking he can do it when he isn't paying attention but once he realizes he is alone he won't do it.

5-He is also getting some more teeth!

6-One of my favorite things he has been doing all month, is when he hugs me he pats my back. I think it is so funny! I have always done it since he was a baby and now he does it to mommy.

I could go on and on but I just wanted to write a few down. I just love this little guy! I can't believe he will be one in just a month! WOW does time fly by! He has been such a huge blessing in our lives and I am so grateful we are his parents.

Maryland Football!!!

Barrick and I went to the Maryland v North Carolina football game this last Saturday and Aleese wanted me to write about it. So here it goes.

First off she has never been so paranoid in her entire life. To leave her baby with me for five hours!!! She must be crazy. But after three lengthy lectures, a dozen reminders, and enough supplies to survive a major catastrophe, she turned us loose.

This was intended to be an Elders quorum activity for the church but everyone bailed out because it was supposed to rain so bad. Since I was the one who planned it I couldn't bail. I really did want to go anyways, it was Barricks first football game! So five of us ended up going and we brought two little boys.

We scalped tickets for 18 bucks a piece and they were great seats. Third row, corner of the endzone. We had only been seated a few minutes when Maryland scored their first touchdown and the crowd went crazy. I didn't realize we were so close to the band. The noise was enough to scare me, and it sent Barrick into a crying fit.

So we ended up watching the game from the nosebleeds.

In truth the seats were not that bad. The rest of the game was a blast. We got rained on pretty bad; Barrick was bundled up inside two of his own coats and mine, wearing a beanie and two hoods. So we survived the first half of pounding rain. Then when the sun came up the game got really good.

Barrick had never had nachos, hotdogs, popcorn, or soft pretzel. So why not try them all at his first football game! Besides, if not for the food we would have left at half time. As it was we were able to stay the entire game. So there it is. Barrick survived an entire college football game at 10 months old. What a stud.

The picture quality is not great because they are all cell phone pics. His mother asked me to take pictures.....yeah. I guess I am glad we did. He is pretty cute!

Fun times!

Living in Maryland with trees all around our house makes for a lot of raking in the fall. It is beautiful when the leaves change colors I have never seen a prettier place, but once the leaves fall it is a lot of work! So Scotty went out to rake the other night and Barrick wanted to go out with him very badly!! (Yes he is starting to state his opinion quite often now!) So he sat at the door and cried watching Scotty rake, so we let him go out.
Here is Barrick watching him rake he was so intent on watching every little move. He wouldn't even look at the camera which for him is very rare!

After Scotty was done he thought it would be fun to lay Barrick in the leaves. A combination of a huge winter coat he is not used to, shoes, hat and leaves didn't make him very happy. Poor little guy!

Here is Barrick and Scotty, and as you can see a much happier Barrick minus the coat and hat. He was too interested in the leaves to look at the camera.

Last, Barrick was having a sad day yesterday, he didn't get a good nap and wasn't feeling very good so he woke up very sad! It is rare to see him not happy so Scotty decided to give him a sucker and this is what we got. He loved the sucker, but don't you love the little scowl that goes along with it! I just love this little guy!

Last, just a cute little video of why Barrick hates his coat!

Climbing!

Just wanted to give a little evidence of our little climbing boy! He does this all day long and like I said earlier, he climbs on anything that might possibly hold his weight. He is such a curious little guy he is so smart and just amazes me everyday!
Here is Barrick climbing on his walker, he pushes it over to the couch and uses it to get on the couch. It is just so fun to see him figure things out for himself, he sees something he wants and he will work for a long time to get it. I just love him! This last picture I just thought was so funny! Every time Barrick sees me get the camera out he gets very excited and starts screaming! He loves getting his picture taken but more importantly he loves seeing himself on the camera after the picture. He thought this one was pretty funny and I loved it because you can see how excited he was.

Redskins and Singing!

Last night Scotty and I went to the Redskins game. It was my gift to Scotty for our anniversary and it was so much fun! Unfortunately we lost, I think it was because of me! They were up 6-0 when we got there and once we started watching they never scored again! Seriously I am not kidding, this has happened so much I really feel like I am bad luck. Oh well we still had a blast!

This is in the stadium as we were leaving the game
Here is a shot from our seats, I couldn't believe how big it was! The stadium fits close to 100,000 people! It is the largest stadium in the NFL. Not to mention every year since it has been opened the seats are sold out, and the season tickets are a ten year wait to buy.
Here we are in our seats!

Here is a picture outside the stadium!
On a side note crazy things happened! Mostly as a result of the alcohol, and this picture was taken before the game. When we arrived the video below is what we saw. There was a car that was on fire! They had fire trucks everywhere trying to get it out so it wouldn't spread through the parking lot. Just ignore us talking in the background!
Then while during the game we witnessed two fights. One was with two girls that were about our age, it was crazy!! They were falling down the seats and falling all over people. It was such a fun night and something we had never done before! Scotty loves the Redskins so I would have the say the gift was a hit!
This other video is of Barrick the other night before his bath. (That is why there is food on his face.) Anyways, he is singing while playing the guitar and it is very cute! Ever since he was born Scotty will play and sing to him and Barrick loves it! Just recently he has stared playing and singing too, and I just thought it was so sweet! Sorry about all the books on the floor, that is what Scotty was studying for the night.

Fun Weekend!!

Like everyone else, we had a very full weekend. Thursday night we had our ward Trunk or Treat, and we had such a fun time. It was pretty cold so you couldn't really see Barrick's costume but it was fun to get out and be with all of our friends. It has been a rare occurrence for Scotty to be able to come out with us this year so it was a very fun night! Here we are at the trunk or treat!
Here is Lucy, Bella and Barrick posing for the camera. Don't you just love all of the costumes!
Then Halloween was a great day! Barrick and I went to the Amish market in the morning with Lauren, and had a lot of fun! We ate breakfast there and enjoyed the morning not being alone! Then that night we went to a party with a bunch of friends. Here we are in our costumes. Barrick was our little Redskins player and we were his fans.
Of course I always need of picture of my two boys don't they look so cute! It was such a great night and fun to celebrate Barrick's first Halloween.

On a side note just some updates on our little guy. The last few weeks Barrick has learned so much!! He is climbing and getting into everything! He has now learned to stack things so he can reach things he is not allowed to touch. He has learned to climb over baby gates! I was SHOCKED he is only ten months and already climbing over the gates! He is trying to climb book shelves, chairs, furniture, basically anything that will hold his weight. Also today while I was gone for only two hours at a church activity, Barrick stood from the ground by himself. Of course he was doing it with Scotty all morning then when I came home he decided not to perform. I just can't believe how fast he is growing and learning! I am so blessed to be able to take care of this little guy! WOW am I lucky!
I wanted to add this picture in because this is his favorite thing in the whole world. You see that little blue light on the computer, yep thats it. He is obsessed with that little blue light, he will sit and scream at it forever! He loves it!

Also this last video was on Halloween night, and was just too cute not to post. By the way I was getting ready and it was Scotty's job to be watching him.
