I have never met a more accident prone child then my Liam. He gets hurt like every child but everything that could potentially be very serious happens to this sweet little boy. All within the last month he has....
- Fallen down our stairs and if you haven't seen our stairs they are insanely steep, long, and end with tile at the bottom. He has been climbing the stairs for months. You see my kids are climbers which means they climb over our baby gates so we have to teach our kids pretty young how to go down stairs. So thinking he was fine I took my safety precautions down (blankets and pillows) because he had been going up and down for months!
Well of course one day we were all upstairs and Liam decided he wanted to go down so I followed him to make sure he was going down okay and he got excited to see me and then the tumbling began. It was one of those bad moments you hope never to see with him flipping over his head at least 3 times and me chasing hoping I can catch my sweet baby boy I twisted my ankle trying to catch him then sure enough he lands head first on the tile. I thought for sure I was going to have to call 911 it was that bad. Sure enough he was being watched over because he just got a little goose egg cried for a bit and was totally fine.
-Climbed out of his crib. Yes he is only 15 months old and his crib is on the lowest setting and he can still accomplish getting out of his crib. I am just lucky he fell out of the side that had stuffed animals on it. We now always try to have footy jammies or socks on.
-He was hit in the head with a train track. Typical right when you have more then one kid this happens all of the time. Especially when two of them are the same age! Barrick was building a train track and he threw one over his shoulder, and sure enough Liam was their and it hit him just right. I came in the room and Liam has blood pouring out of his forehead. Fun right? He didn't end up needing stitches but he will have a fun little scar for the memory.
- Just lots of little things that happen on a daily basis, falling off anything he climbs on. YES I know i have said it many times before but my kids are climbers I spend 90% of my day pulling them off of tables, night stands, beds, book shelves, desks, anything and everything high! Liam is a smart one and knows how to pull the chairs out at the table. Not only that but he will pull them around the house on carpet might I add to climb it so he can reach something. To get to the point he has fallen off all of these things.
-Our latest adventure was the other day when I had the kids outside blowing bubbles. Barrick was happy running around popping them Lilly was glued to my side because she hates cement and Liam was raking with his little rake. Well of course he trips over my leg and goes face first into the cement I thought he hit his forehead but sure enough he stands up and blood is pouring out of his nose. I thought for sure he broke it. It started swelling and I couldn't get it to stop bleeding. Well yet again crisis averted!
Here is a picture of it later that night when the swelling had gone down, it actually looked worse the next day because it scabbed over. It looked like he rubbed his face over gravel.
