Smile!

We have been trying to get a picture of him smiling for a while, and with the double flash to get rid of red eye we can never get it. Finally we were able to get this, it isn't as big as it gets but pretty close!

We just thought this was cute with him in his little sweat suit. Sorry about the red eye he was smiling right before this and we couldn't quite catch it.

With this picture you need to click on it so it is big, it is funny because for a while now his left eye is brown and his right eye is blue. (I just tried it and you can't really see it but we decided to leave it on anyways and I like how he is cross-eyed.) Also as you can tell his hair has started to fall out only right in the front so it looks like he is balding pretty dang cute!!

Tagged

Well I was tagged by Andrea Shauni, and Heather a while ago so if you get bored of reading them I don't blame you.

The rules of the game are posted at the beginning. Each player lists six facts/habits about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags six people then posts their names, then goes to there their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1-I am a complete psycho when it comes to cleaning, if there was one thing Scotty would change about me this would be it. I just have a certain way I like things organized, with folding the laundry, loading the dishwasher and many other things. I know it drives him nuts but he puts up with it and actually has learned to do many of the things my way.

2-I am a complete cry baby I cry over just about anything from movies, songs on the radio, to sappy commercials, pretty much anything that you can feel any kind of emotion over.

3-I too like Andrea love food! If I am hungry you better not be around me. After I eat a meal I am already thinking about what I am going to eat for my next meal. One of the things I miss most about Utah is Costa Vida and Sunday dinners, pretty pathetic I know.

4-I am a total discovery channel junky I love it all! My favorite shows are the medical shows on discovery health channel. I could watch them all day long I love to learn about diseases and medical conditions, Scotty always makes fun of me because I know about so many weird diseases and their symptoms.

5-I love comfortable clothes the second I get home from anywhere I go straight to my room and change into warm-up pants and a t-shirt. I hate wearing normal clothes around the house, first because I think they get ruined faster and I like my clothes to last, and most importantly because they aren't comfortable there is nothing I hate more then wearing a pair of jeans around the house.

6-Coming out to Maryland I have developed a fear of squirrels they are nothing like Utah squirrels. First of all they are everywhere and always in our yard taunting me, and they are HUGE! I swear some of them are the size of a small dog. Scotty says I exaggerate it but I find them a little frightening.

The ABC's of me

A-Attached or single: Attached (of course)

B-Best friend: Scotty for sure followed by my family. Then many friends who follow them.

C-Cake or pie: Cake especially white cake with chocolate frosting.

D-Day of choice: Sundays, it is the only day Scotty doesn't study so we have the whole day to ourselves.

K-Kids: Barrick 4 weeks and three days.

L-Life is incomplete without: Scotty my best friend and our sweet little buddy Barrick.

M-Marriage: Sept. 27, 2003

N-Number of Siblings: Five, three sisters and two brothers. Angie, Austin, Ariane, Alex, and Ashtyn.

O-Oranges or Apples: Depends on the month I always have both of them in my fridge, but this month I prefer apples.

P-Phobias or fears: Like I said earlier Squirrels or any rodent, and I have a fear of drowning.

Q-Quotes: I have a lot of favorite quotes but many of them are in the book "Small and Simple things." by Marjorie Pay Hinckley. You should read it.

R-Reason to smile: I finally have the opportunity of being a mom, I am married to the most amazing person ever, we are finally in Medical School, and I could keep going but those are my top picks.

S-Season: Fall, I love sweater weather and it is my birthday, and anniversary.

T-Tag six: I am sure everyone I can tag has been tagged but I will tag Angie, Ariane, Andrea (you can do the ABC's), Heather, Melissa, and Tristy.

U-Unknown fact about me: I can out eat almost anyone I have yet to find my match.

V-Vegetarian or Oppressor of Animal: Neither I love everything!

W-Worst habit: Chewing on things, I like to chew on little pieces of plastic like pen lids or anything similar.

X-X-rays or ultrasounds: Ultra sounds, when I have had X-rays it is because I had broken something and it hurt!

Y-Your favorite food: My favorite food is definitely a turkey dinner, there is nothing better then a Thanksgiving dinner.

Z-Zodiac: Libra

We thought everyone would enjoy seeing Barrick's new bathing equipment, especially since many of you will never have the opportunity to visit and see how CUTE he is in person! After the thousands of requests for more video, here he is in ALL HIS GLORY! (Pardon the nudity, parental discretion is advised)

Baby Barrick

Well we wanted to add a couple more pictures and give some updates on our little guy he has officially moved out of his preemie clothes and into new born he is still pretty skinny but he is to tall for his little outfits so we moved him up. Yeah!! This is Barrick laying on our bed and I loved this picture because he was so awake!

But sure enough ten minutes later after cuddling up next to his daddy he and dad were fast asleep!

I loved this picture with him and Scotty he always burps better when Scotty burps him and in this picture he had just spit up and leaked through his outfit and so dad was burping and cleaning him up and I couldn't get over how tiny he looks with Scotty holding him. I love those two!

This is one last picture with grandma before she went back to Utah, but they will be back in March for the blessing so it wasn't that bad of a goodbye.
I just really liked this picture of course I love them all but he was so happy here and we thought he looked so cute!
We wanted to add these at the end we did all of this right before we had the baby and we had so much fun, this was at the DC temple we went and looked at the lights with our friends and then went to the free Christmas concert they had it was a fun night!

After we went to see the lights at the temple we went to go see the National Christmas tree, it was a cold night so we didn't stay too long for either one, but we had a lot of fun!

Thanks

I just wanted to write a post and thank all of you for being so supportive! Over the last three and half years of infertility work Scotty and I have been through some hard times trying to get our little buddy here and we could not have done it without all of your support and love. If you would have asked me a year ago if I ever thought we would be here I would have said no. I never wanted anything more in my life then to be a mom and I have never felt so blessed!
Through all of the up and down months with procedure after procedure, medications, bed rest for way too long and disappointments you were all there for us and I cannot thank you enough from phone calls to see how we were doing, to letters of recommendation for IVF, notes of encouragement, and just being there when we felt picked on. Most importantly we are so thankful for the prayers and fasts done for us, when we felt hopeless and like nothing would work you guys are what helped us get through those times.
Now we have Barrick and we could not be happier we just stare at him in disbelief and can't believe that he is ours we are so thankful for modern medicine and that through that we are able to have a family. I have never been so blessed and grateful that I get the opportunity to be a mom so those of you who have that blessing don't ever take it for granted.
Thanks again we love you all and would not be where we are today without your love and support. Thanks!!
