Up and Down!

Barrick can now officially go up and down the stairs. This has been a worry of mine for quite sometime, ever since he started climbing the stairs he has climbed up and over the baby gates. We have been working on going down the stairs for what seems like a long time. Over the past couple of days he has mastered it. Of course I don't let him go without me, but as you can see he is pretty excited about it and so am I!
Also on a side note Barrick had his 12 month appt. and yes he is still skinny. He is not quite 19 pounds but he is average in height. He was actually put on a no water diet because they want him to pack on the pounds. Personally I think it is just him. He is very healthy and eats all of the time, I just think he is lean. He did great with his shots and was talking and showing off his walking skills to everyone in the office. He is just so much fun!
By the way my baby is 13 months today!! CRAZY!

Chapter 2: I'll leave it at that.

Well we had a great Christmas I know it was about a month ago but I have not had the motivation to post about it. So I finally got around to it and I decided to do less then more. I could have had about five posts on Christmas but this will have to do. We had an amazing time and miss all of our family and friends! Thanks for such a great time! Here is a touch of what we did.

We had a fun night a Classic with the Stewart side. We played on the bouncy toys, played laser tag and watched the kids play in the tree house. I think the adults ended up having more fun then the kids!

I was also able to get together with a few friends for breakfast and we had such a great time!!
Of course Barrick got to spend a lot of time with all of his cousins he loved it!!
Every time Barrick turned around he just had to smile and he was given whatever he wanted, and as you can see he takes after his mom and loves food!

We also went to many Chirstmas parties and Barrick couldn't have been happier surrounded by cousins all of the time!
You can't forget his best friend Muki. He followed Muki around everywhere and always had to lay on him.
The trip was full of a lot of presents. We fit as much as we could in our luggage but both sides had to mail huge boxes out to us. Of course they were full of Barricks presents.
This had to be Barricks favorite game. Gpa spinning him is circles in the cart.
More cousin pictures!
Last, we had such a great Christmas full of wonderful memories thanks so much for such a wonderful trip!

Chapter 1: Barricks Birthday!

Well we have been home from Utah since the 31st and I am just barely getting around to posting about our trip because Barrick has been very sick! I have so much to post about and I don't want to overwhelm you all with a gigantic post, so I am going to do it in Chapters. There is no better occasion to start with then Barrick's 1st birthday.
First I can't believe that Barrick is one! His birthday was on the 23rd and it could not have been a better day. Barrick was prayed for and wanted so badly by us and all of our family, and what a neat day to spend it with them. I love this little guy I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for allowing him to be in our lives. He has learned so much and grown so fast! This has been the most perfect year, we LOVE you Barrick!
The day started with decorating sugar cookies with Gma Stewart and his cousins. Barrick had a GREAT time!!

Then is was out to play in the snow and sled with some of his cousins. This was the first time Barrick has ever played in the snow, we don't get enough in MD so what a treat to come home to a white Christmas and have our little guy be able to experience snow for the first time. Here are my two boys out playing in the snow.

Then is was party time!! We went up to Layton to have a birthday party with all of our family. It was such a fun and night and so sweet of my parents to host it, and also for Scottys family to drive from Draper to come. Barrick was spoiled by everyone! Thanks we love you guys!!

As you can see Barrick loves being the center of attention. (I wonder where he got that from?)
Here he is giving Grandma Nelson kisses.
Here he is with Gpa Nelson. He loved playing this game with him.

Here is Barrick with only one of the many presents he was given. He was a spoiled!

Then is was cake time! Barricks favorite toy he owns is a stuffed elephant, he adores this elephant (thanks to Deeann) so of course I had to make an elephant cake.

Here is Barrick and I with the elephant!

As you can see Barrick loved his cake! He would have ate the whole thing if I let him.

Then is was back to Draper to have a little party with Gpa Stewart who wasn't able to come up for the party. We saved this present for last because Gpa Stewart picked it out and obviously Barrick loved it! He has his own little doctor kit just like his daddy now.

Last, I felt this picture pretty much summed up the day. We had such a great day and Barrick was the happiest little guy ever. Thank you so much to our family you all made this such a wonderful day we love you all so much! Happy Birthday Barrick!!

This last weekend we had our family pictures done and here are a few of our favorites, including the pictures on the side. The day was great except for some reason Barrick was not being himself it took a lot of work to get a smile out of him and he was very sad. Sure enough the next morning we woke up to another tooth, poor little guy! We LOVE these pictures Emily did such a great job you can check out her website at hayesphotography.blogspot.com.

Holiday Fun!

Well over the past couple of weeks we have made some very fun holiday memories. We were quarantined to our house for a while because we all got sick. So this is catch up on all of our fun Holiday parties and outings. They aren't in order but I guess that doesn't really matter.

Last night we went with some friends to see the lights at the temple. We had such a fun evening out! Barrick LOVED the lights when we drove up he was crying because he was sick of being in his car seat and once he saw the lights he got so excited and his mood changed right around.
Here we are, don't you just love Christmas lights!
Here are my two favorite people!

Here is a picture of the Nativity Scene, they have volunteers come and play Mary and Joseph.
Here we are in front of the temple.

Saturday night we had our ward Christmas party and it was such a fun night! Barrick was very good considering it started right before his bedtime. We had a fun night with friends, food, entertainment, and of course Santa.

Barrick and I spent most of our time in the back so he could walk around.
And last the classic picture with Santa, I thought for sure he wouldn't cry he doesn't really get scared of strangers. All though before we even sat on his lap, he was sad and it was two hours past his bedtime. Poor little guy!
Last, we had a fun White Elephant gift party with a bunch of our friends. Thanks to the Swensons, they throw the party every year and it is always so fun! Here we are with baby Anna at the party! Barrick was at home sleeping with the babysitter so I had to steal Liz's baby for the night!

Here is most of the group talking and having fun!

Thanks everyone for so many fun holiday memories! We have been so blessed to have so many great friends out here. It is so nice to have such amazing people in our lives they truly are our family away from family. Merry Christmas!! Utah here we come!

It's Official!

He is not one hundred percent but today he went from taking four steps, to about ten or fifteen without falling. We couldn't get it in the video because of course we didn't get the camera out until he was done and ready for bed. Not to mention he has been very sick this week so I was surprised he had to gusto to do it. The video shows him walk a little bit but we just thought it was very cute so we thought we would share. Sorry about the lack of clothing I was just going to put him in the bath.

Anyways, here is our little guy exhibiting all of his many moods in about one minute. Enjoy!!

Thanksgiving Weekend!

Wow what a weekend! It was a much needed break and it was so amazing to be able to spend time with Scotty!! To kick it all off Wednesday night we had a game night with a couple of friends. Settlers, treats, and friends whats better then that. Then Thursday Scotty went and played in the Turkey Bowl and he had a blast! Barrick and I were great cheerleaders and enjoyed hanging out with all of the other moms and kids. Of course I started cooking Wednesday and was cooking until dinner started. We hosted dinner at our house and had a bunch of friends over.

Here we are getting ready to eat!
After dinner Scotty took a turn holding Anna our neighbors brand new baby, and they ended up taking a nap together. I would have to say it was a very smart move on his part he didn't have to do dishes because nobody wanted to wake the baby up by getting Scotty up to help.
Here is one of the tables of Friends I know, I know blue for Thanksgiving! I wanted to use real dishes but I have been so busy lately, and with so many people and a small Kitchen I opted for paper this year and couldn't find any Thanksgiving colors oh well!
Here is the other table, thanks everyone for such a great day!

I would have to say it turned out really well, with ten adults and seven kids, the Christmas tree only got knocked over twice and only a couple of food stains to clean up, I would say it was a success!

Later that night we had some friends who are going to Medical school up in New York come down to visit for the weekend. We had such a great time, Friday we of course went shopping and got a few great deals and had fun buying Barrick Christmas presents. Then Saturday we joined Ian and Krystle down to DC. We were able to go to the Holocaust Museum, the Natural History Museum and a couple of the Monuments, then Barrick was exhausted so we headed home.
Here we are in front of Jefferson Monument.
Here is Krystle, Scotty, Barrick and Ian walking to our next stop.
Barrick LOVED the Natural History museum he couldn't get enough of the animals. He was so excited about them, his favorite was the Grizzly bear he started crying when we took him away from it.
Here is Barrick and I in the Africa section. Here is our little buddy all bundled up.
Last, here we are on our way back to the car. Barrick was so exhausted he actually let Scotty hold him like this for about fifteen minutes before he fell asleep. As you can tell Scotty loves nothing more then to cuddle with his little side kick. I just love them! We had such a great time Barrick and I ran ourselves a little too thin. Barrick woke up sick Sunday morning and I followed shortly there after. Oh well it was a very fun and memorable weekend, thanks everyone for making it so great!
