Rainy Sunday!

This is what we did on our rainy Sunday...
Play and try everything we can to get a picture of this cute little face.
Run as fast as we can why the rain pours down.

Splash in as many puddles as we can find.
Spray each other till we are all sopping wet!
And climb up the trees and try to reach the birds!

All while these two little cuties were up sleeping in their beds!

Hope you had a fun Sunday!

Happy Daddy Day!!

Happy Daddy Day!!! We LOVE you so much!! Thanks for being the most amazing Daddy in the whole world!!
The thing I LOVE the most about Scotty is his desire to be better and to always improve, because that is truly what being a good parent is. For example this last weekend he lost his patience more then usual with some of the kids and later that night expressed to me his frustration with himself. I reassured him and told him not to be so hard on himself because who can blame him, it is hard having three kids under the age of two. Late that night I woke up around 3 in the morning and found Scotty awake. I of course was worried and asked why he was still awake, he then told me he was thinking of ways he can be a better dad and show more patience. That is why I LOVE you Scotty!! Thank you for being such a great example to me of what being a parent is all about. WE LOVE YOU!!

Also a Happy Fathers day to our dads, grandpas, uncles, brother in laws, and friends! We love you all thanks for being apart of our lives and being such great fathers!

Ohio and Dr. Nelson!

This last weekend the kids and I drove to Ohio for my brothers Medical School Graduation from OSU. I was nervous about it because I had to make the journey alone. It is only a six hour drive but with a two year old and 2 babies you can't blame me for being nervous. After all was said and done it couldn't have gone any smoother! Yes it was LONG and I was so tried but it was good!
I thought this was pretty funny, this was our first stop on the way out only an hour and a half into the drive. Lilly decided she was not quite done pooping so she had two diaper changes, and yes they are all four poopy diapers. The people in the little cafe where we were parked probably thought I was never going to stop bringing kids out of my car. On the way we only stopped 3 times and drove through the biggest storm I have ever driven in. (tornado warnings come to find out). Good thing Barrick wasn't scared because I was! The car was shaking it was crazy and the I couldn't see anything!! He thought it was like a ride he was laughing like nothing was wrong!

The way back was great only two stops! All though one thing I never thought about was that I couldn't go to the bathroom. I know it was possible but I was NOT going to take my babies and Barrick in a gas station bathroom. YUCK!!! Good thing I was blessed with a bladder that can last a long time!

The next day was graduation and a very LONG but FUN day. We started out at a luncheon at the school, then off to Alex's award ceremony where he was honored for a research project he did and also honored as the top student in the Neurology Department.

Here is Alex recieving his award.
Here is Austin and I with Barrick who was SO tired!!

Alex and my Dad after the awards ceremony.

Then after the award ceremony we went to dinner to celebrate! Here is me Angie, and Alex.

Then after dinner it was off to graduation. Like I said it was a LONG day the graduation didn't start until 8 o clock, so by the time it was done it was close to 11. So forgive me for how horrible I look in the pictures. Dragging my kids around all day was tiring!! Good thing I had lots of helping hands!
Here is the whole crew after he graduated. Don't you hate it when your eyes are closed and that is the only picture I got of all us.

One with all six kids. This is the first time we have all been together since Ashtyn got married 2 years ago.
Of course one with Alex and my little family.

It was such a fun day and such a neat experience to be there and see Alex graduate! He is off to Utah for his intern year then off to Rochester Minnesota for his residency in Neurology at Mayo Clinic. Congratulations Dr. Nelson we are so proud of you!!

The next day we decided to go to the zoo. Not the most exciting thing to do as an adult while on vacation so THANKS everyone for catering to my little family!

Here is everyone at the zoo.
Barrick as cute as ever with evidence that his aunts are around by the huge piece of gum in his mouth!
Barrick and I on the boat ride at the zoo.Barrick looking at the birds with Papa. Where ever Papa was Barrick was right there too. (If you don't know he is obsessed) Thanks dad for literally watching Barrick all weekend!!
Barrick petting the snake!

The next day we drove to Kirtland to see the temple and all the church history.
Here we are in front of the temple. It was so neat to see!

All though the best part of the day was driving back to Columbus and trying to find somewhere to eat. Lets just say there is some pretty crazy places between Kirtland and Columbus! Too long of a story but one that will go down in Nelson family history!

With all the fun I would have to say I have the BEST kids EVER!! We stretched them to the max! With being out of bed almost every night until 11:30 and a few cat naps here and there they were amazing!! It was such a fun vacation! Thank you so much mom and dad for making sure everyone made it out there. CONGRATS ALEX you are amazing! We love you and we are so proud of you!

Rice cereal!

Yes the rice cereal has started! Liam seemed to need more then just milk, so here is the first attempt. Liam DID NOT like it!! Every time it would dribble down his throat he would gag, it was pretty funny. He is still in the phase where every bite feels like it takes five minutes.
Oddly enough we started it for Liam but with twins of course you always do things at the same time and Lilly LOVES it. She ate it right up!! Now when I am feeding them she gets upset when it is Liam's turn. What can I say she takes after her mom. Yes some days I feel as though my days revolve around what I am going to eat next. :)

Here is Barrick always watching over these two little ones. Man I love these kids!

Memorial Day Weekend!

Memorial day weekend started off great, because Scotty had a four day weekend! ( YES you heard me FOUR days!!) We had so much fun! We got together with friends a few of the days and had such a blast!! We shared food, fun, and memories and had some amazing family time together! Also a date night which is always needed! Dinner and Prince of Persia = fun night!!

Here is Barrick at the play place at the mall! He loves it there!

Also the night of memorial day we decided to split up and have a little one on one time with the kids because they NEVER get it. Scotty took the babies and went to the mall to get some dinner and I took Barrick to see Shrek 3 and out to dinner. It was so fun to spend time with my little buddy and make him feel special. It was such a fun night and one I will never forget!

Memorial day we went swimming and it wast the babies first time we had such a blast! Nothing better then being in a pool on a hot humid day and having fun with friends!!
Lilly liked swimming much more then Liam, poor little guy the water was very cold and it was even hard for me! (all though that is not saying much I like my water warm:)

Here is Barrick in the process of throwing everything into the pool! He LOVED swimming until Scotty dunked him under the water, then he just liked it. Barrick told me his favorite part was the pizza! Here are the babies screaming in protest while changing them out of wet cold clothes.

And of course the after when they are all warmed up and happy!

It was such a great weekend! Thanks to our friends for sharing it with us!! We love you guys!

Whats been going on?

What has been going on with us? A LOT!! I decided we would start with the bad stuff and get it over with.
A couple of weeks ago Barrick woke up one morning totally fine acting like his usual normal self, then by nap time he was running a fever around 100 so I gave him Tylenol and put him down for a nap. Three hours later he woke up and was burning up. I took his temp. and he was at 104. I started the usual alternating Tylenol and Motrin to break his fever and it wasn't breaking. Finally around midnight it broke and he fell asleep then a couple hours later he started screaming like I have NEVER heard before. It is the kind where it feels like your heart stops because you know something is really wrong. I ran in his room and he was shaking and he eyes were rolling around and darting all over the room. I screamed for Scotty and he came in and Barrick did it for a couple of min. Scotty told me he was probably having a Febrile Seizure and I heard the word Seizure and of course freaked!!! Scotty said we needed to take him to the ER just in case, so off they went.
Come to find out that is what Barrick had and it happens to children when they run a high fever. CRAZY RIGHT?? I was just so happy nothing was seriously wrong, but I that is the most scared I have ever been! I can handle broken bones or blood, but something where you don't know what is wrong, and the worry that it is something more serious was scary!!

So the couple of days after this is what we did all day. Watch movies and stay in our jammies all day.

Now for the fun things. Scotty decided he wanted to get Barrick an outdoor hoop and it was quite an adventure getting it and putting it up. Lets just say it was one of those nights where nothing goes right but in the end this was the finished product, yes it was at 10 clock two hours past his bed time but as you can see a very happy little boy.

Scotty also participated in research week at his school where all surrounding medical schools get together and present their posters. Here we are in front of Scotty's, yes the babies were here but just in the stroller.

Here is Barrick shaving his face which is a huge accomplishment. With Barrick and I spending all of our time together he was convinced he is supposed to shave his legs. Yes our bathroom doors are left open, and shower time seems like family time, don't judge:) when you are eight months pregnant with twins and can't bend over the bathtub you would put your two year in the shower with you too. So now Barrick is convinced he has to follow me everywhere, so for the longest time with his play shaving kit he would pretend like he would shave his legs and that made Scotty not so happy. So after a talk with dad and shaving together Barrick has moved on to the face.
Last but not least Lilly and Liam turned 5 months old yesterday!! Yes you heard me 5 MONTHS!! Crazy I know!
Fun facts

Lilly
-Very social she LOVES attention and when people talk to her.
-She falls asleep SO WELL! You just have to give her a binky and blanket and she is out!
-Daddy is still her favorite person!
-She talks all the time, but it sounds like she is growling at you. (Maybe she got that from Barrick).
-She is reaching for toys and playing with them.
-She enjoys rice cereal much more than Liam.
-She is much more olive complected than the boys. She looks like she already has a tan.
-She is much closer to sitting than Liam.
-She still has NO hair! Good thing she can wear a bow.
-When daddy walks in the room she won't look at anything other than him.
-She is much less tolerant of Barrick picking on her. (I don't blame her)
Liam
-Rolling from his back to his tummy now.
-Still so laid back.
-Screams his head off when we lay him down to nap.
-Hence why he has to cry himself to sleep.
-LOVES TV, When he is upset put him in front of the TV and he is a happy camper.
-Loves eating his hands and Lilly's too!
-Has a hard time falling asleep when out and about.
-Gets sat on at least once a day by Barrick.
-Has clammy little hands and feet.
-Loves mornings! He will just sit and talk in bed happily for a while.

Mothers Day!

Mothers day was so WONDERFUL you know why??

1-First I get to be a mom to the three most adorable kids!!

2-When the babies woke up at 6 to eat Scotty rolled out of bed and fed them!
3-10 minutes after he was done feeding the babies Barrick woke up and he of course got up with him.
4-I slept until 8, and woke up to Barrick running in the bedroom screaming HAPPY MOMMY DAY!!
5- I snuggled with the babies why Scotty made breakfast, made sure some food made it in the mouth of our crazy little boy, then cleaned it up.
6-Scotty fed all three kids again and got Barrick and the babies dressed and ready for church while I took a long bath and read a book. Then when I came out of the bathroom there were three clean, sweet smelling kids with clothes ironed and looking so cute in their church clothes.
7-Church was wonderful, I got to sit and listen to all of sacrament meeting while Scotty took care of Barrick. Then as I left our last meeting I walked out in the hall to see Barrick running to me again screaming HAPPY MOMMY DAY, and handing me a picture of our family which he was kind of mad because the picture that he colored didn't have two babies.
8-We came home and Scotty made chicken pasta, rolls, and salad for dinner and again cleaned it up.
9-I was surprised with flowers Saturday with a card that said "We love you Mom! You are the best mother anyone could ask for! Daaabum! Love, Barrick, Lilly and Liam.(if you don't know Daabum is what Barrick says for yes). Then Scotty got me some books a Blue ray, and then he gave me a silver heart locket with pictures of the kids in it.

10- Last, I got to sit back and think about all of the wonderful women in my life both with and without kids, who have influenced my life and the life of my children. Thank you all for being such great examples!

But most importantly Happy mothers day to my mom and mom in law. We wouldn't have our little family and be the people we are today if it weren't for you guys! WE LOVE YOU!!

I love these pictures of them with the babies!

Kind of an old picture but I love it because it has both of them together with our little Barrick guy!
