The babies are 1!!

I know I am going out of order but half of our pictures from Christmas and Barrick's birthday are on Scotty's laptop and since he works on it all the time I decided to go a little out of order.

Which brings me to my sweet little babies turning 1 years old!! Yes you heard me 1!!!!! This year has been the hardest, most challenging year of my life but also the most rewarding, and happiest year. It was full of many days with tantrums, whining, and crying and that was just from me. :) These two sweet babies have been such a blessing to our family. Lilly and Liam have brought so much joy and laughter into our house. We feel so blessed each and everyday for these special babies.

I was looking at pictures and deciding what to put on here and yes I posted and deleted this picture about 5 times and finally decided who cares. Yes my house is a mess (I was on bed rest so it is all Scotty's fault), I have no makeup on, my hair is a mess, I look horrible but oh well this is what I looked like. When I got pregnant with the twins I was so curious what a pregnant belly with twins looked like, so for those of you who are curious here you go. This was taken two days before I delivered.

Lilly:
She is our climber! If there is a way she will figure it out!
She loves her stuffed lamb! She calls it nammy. (Lamby)
She always steals toys from Barrick and Liam and thinks it is pretty funny.
She HATES facial hair, if Scotty has even a little she screams and hits his face away.
She is by far our best sleeper! She could sleep all day!
She has a sweet tooth if you give her even a little taste you better plan on giving her the whole thing. Or she will let you have it.
She loves to tackle Barrick and just giggles her little heart out.
If she put at least half of the energy she puts into walking as she does climbing she would be sprinting circles around our house.
She does not cuddle! She is go, go, go.
She LOVES food! If you are eating she thinks she should be eating too. (my kind of girl)

Nicknames: Missy loo, Lilly milly, Lil, and Princess.

Liam:
He is walking and starting to try and run.
He LOVES to cuddle he would be content being held all day.
He loves electronics if you have a remote, phone, electrical plug he is there.
He is our garbage disposal he can eat enough for all 3 kids.
He is not as patient with Barrick but also at the same time Barrick is more gentle with Lilly so who can blame him.
He HATES the car! He cries almost every time he is in the car.
He is our best out in public, so if I need to take a kid with me to the store Liam is my man.
He has been hospitalized 2 times for breathing problems it is no fun! So when he gets sick it always gets really bad.
He LOVES his blanket if I pull it out of the crib he will roll around on the floor laughing for at least 5 minutes.

Nick names: Liam boy, and Chunk.

It is strange to think they went from these itty bitty babies to where they are today!
Here they are at Easter.
Sweet little ones at 6 months.
Halloween.

And of course now.

Yes it wouldn't be as fun without a big party, and lucky us we were in Utah with our families over their birthday.

They were spoiled with lots of presents!
Lots of loves.
Lots of friends to play with them.
And lots of cake to eat.

Liam hated the cake and screamed the whole time.

Why Lilly chowed down with a big smile on her face.
In one way or another you have all helped us over this last year from babysitting, phone calls, visits, and for just being a blog friend, some days that was my only link to the world outside of my kids and I appreciate it so much!! We are so grateful to all of you!!

Christmas fun part 1.

We are now home after a fun holiday vacation but with that comes the many posts that I didn't do before I left, and the many I have to do after such a great vacation. So without much to say here is our Christmas season.

We decided to take the kids to see the lights at the DC temple, and it was FREEZING!!! We were there maybe 30 minutes but we did it and the kids had a great time for the 5 minutes we had them out of their stoller:)

Here we are in the visitors center.
Did I mention it was freezing!! We were outside long enough to walk into the Visitors center so these were pictures on the move.
Our three little cuties all bundled. Did I mention it was FREEZING!!!!!!
Here we are with the Bahrs our friends who are crazy or brave enough to venture out with us and our little crazy, loud little ones. Thanks for a great night!!

Of course like everyone else we had fun Christmas parties. Here we are at the the ward Christmas party.
When they called all the primary kids up to sing for the party without any hesitation Barrick marched right up there and smiled the whole time. We didn't have the heart to tell him he wasn't quite old enough but we figured he was close enough.
What can we say Barrick is a ladies man.
Barrick with Santa.

We also went with some friends on a Santa train ride. It was very fun, they had a conductor come and take your ticket then Santa came and visited each kid on the train ride. Then at the end they had hot chocolate and cookies.

I thought Lilly would scream the second she saw Santa but she just sat and stared at him trying to figure him out.
Barrick was a little shy.
And Liam HATED it!!
Here we are with all of our friends who joined in on the fun!

And, last a picture of these cut kids waiting for the train to go.

Good news!

We received some good news yesterday and thought we would share it with everyone! Scotty matched to a pediatric residency in Dayton, OH! I am so proud of him. This was his first choice in residency and we are so excited to start the next phase of our life. We have loved our time in Maryland and will really miss our friends and family, but this is a great thing for us.

The residency is mostly at Dayton Children's Hospital with a few rotations at Wright Patterson AFB hospital. Here are some pictures of where he will be working:

I am so proud of you Scotty! Looks like it's time to start house hunting!

Christmas fun!

Decorating Christmas! Yes I love it and yes we did this well before Thanksgiving because my sweet Barrick boy asked me everyday. Also since we are going to Utah next week we want to enjoy Christmas at our house longer then a week or two, so Christmas mid November is how we do it at our house.

Taking out all of the Christmas decorations brings back memories of babies. Christmas and babies go hand in hand at our house. With all three of my kids being born within 3 days of Christmas you can understand why. Pulling out Christmas decorations feels the same as seeing tiny baby clothes, and the fresh smell of a newborn. Having all of these feelings made me sad to realize this is our last Christmas here in our little townhouse where we started our family. As ready as I am to be in a bigger house, have a bigger yard, get new furniture, get new Christmas decorations, and not feel like we are busting out of our home, I am having a hard time realizing this little town house that we have made our home isn't going to be ours much longer. So I am trying to take in every minute of this holiday season and enjoy our last Christmas here with friends that have become family, and most importantly with my sweet little Christmas babies who both Scotty and I love so much and feel so blessed to have.

So we started off with decorating!

Liam LOVED the lights and couldn't get enough of all the things he could put in his mouth! As you can see he was very happy.

Lilly on the other hand did not like it!! She HATED the Christmas tree. She is scared of men with facial hair and I think the tree look furry and hairy to her so she wanted nothing to do with it. (obviously she is used to it now, but this night she spent most of the time crying or being held.) Silly Lilly!

Barrick putting the star up, yes that star cost double what the tree did.
All three of the kiddos in front of the tree. I am as shocked as all of you probably are that we got a picture with all three of them smiling and somewhat looking at the camera. You should see all of the pictures leading up to this one.
This is what Barrick thought the stockings were for.
Barrick hard at work on the tree.
Lilly wanting nothing to do with the tree and wanting to be held.
Barrick and mommy putting up the tree.
Last, the whole family in front of the tree!

Picture OVERLOAD!!

My amazing and talented friend was nice enough to take our pictures and by the number of pictures I put on here you can tell I LOVED them! My three little ones were so good! They were all tired and hungry and yet somehow we got a ton of pretty amazing pictures with all of them looking at the camera!! These are just a handful of my favorite ones.
I just love that cute little face of his! I could just eat him up. Every time my friend (Diana) took a picture Barrick would say cheese.
Liam as happy as can be.

Our little Lilly bean.
Me and Scotty.

This is what our pictures looked like toward the end, Barrick bored, Liam screaming, and Lilly trying so hard to get down.
I love this picture, I always have kids climbing on me all day long and it is nice to have pictures of what my everyday life looks like.
More of this silly little guy.

Mommy and the babies.
Could he be any more handsome?
In this picture Barrick kept talking to Liam and I love it!
Cute brothers!
My three little ones. I am so blessed to have them!
These two are such a pair. They just make me laugh.
Our little Lilly. Who by the way is still little but super tall! She is now taller then Liam. I think she has those tall skinny Stewart genes.
Last, I LOVE this picture of Liam trying to steal Lilly's head band. They are constantly stealing things from each other. It is fun to see it in a picture.

Nightly Ritual.

If I haven't mentioned this before night time is a little crazy at our house but also the best time of the day!!

These three little kids LOVE the bath and do you know what they love even more, that stupid orange seashell cup. YES I know there is that object in every family that all the kids want and think that they should have. (Just ask my parents about the smash spoon that ended up being thrown out the window). Well that is the orange bath toy for us and of course Lilly ended up with it in this picture. Many tears and fits occur over that silly seashell.

Scotty tried to get a picture from the top so there had to be no censoring. :)

Then of course after bath time is dance time. I don't know how it started but every night we blast the music and dance with these fun little ones. Barrick of course always asks for the FAST songs.

Liam was sitting on my lap and moved the camera right when the flash went off but I kind of like it! It is what the world looks like when you are spinning and dancing.
Then it is "tackle time" as Barrick calls it where Scotty and I become human jungle gyms.
Lilly as happy as can be.

I LOVE this picture of Barrick he was just dancing his little hear out.
Then last but not least cuddle time. Well I guess I should rephrase that as Liam cuddle time. Barrick and Lilly would rather scream and dance but Liam is my little cuddle bug as you can see and I LOVE IT!! So there you go our night in a nutshell!

Barrick has really loved taking pictures lately and said he wants to fly to Utah and show his grandmas and grandpas his pictures. I of course told him we can't fly to Utah all the time so we compromised on putting his pictures on the blog. So here you go Grandma and Grandpa Nelson and Stewart, this is the one he chose and he is very proud.
