Our month in review!

Well the last month has been a little crazy to say the least, to start out our little ones turned one month!! Here they are on the January 28th aren't they the cutest!! I will try and make this short and sweet!
First the hard stuff!

1-Being in the hospital for two weeks before the babies came.
2-Then of course recovering from a c-section, which isn't too bad, but the spinal head ache I got from the surgery was the worst pain ever!! If you have ever had one I feel for you.
3-Having to travel 30 min. everyday to the hospital to see my little Liam and not be able to take him home!!

So when I was finally home and getting into a good routine the last thing I wanted was to go back to the hospital, and sure enough that is where I ended up.

Good thing Scotty doesn't listen to me because what I thought was a pulled muscle ended up being appendicitis. Having two surgeries in a little over a month and taking care of two babies and a two year old is not the easiest! Which brought my mom back out because Scotty's work schedule has been so hectic he couldn't take any more time off.

So with my mom in town I was able to catch up on a lot of this. (Scotty took the picture it seems like there are a lot of me like this lately.)
Then while I was recovering we got hit with not just a little snow but a lot!! Everything was closed down and we were trapped inside. We were lucky enough to not lose our power. DC doesn't see snow like this so everyone was in panic mode. People were lining up outside of grocery stores hours before they opened to make sure they got food. Scotty went the night before the super bowl and the shelves were completely empty! Everything was shut down for over a week.

So with family around and no place to go we had time to watch Barrick give the babies chocolate kisses.

Play with grandpa Stewart. (They flew out the day my mom flew back to Utah, I know we are lucky.)
Build Snowmen with Gma Stewart.Play in the snow and go for walks with Gma Nelson.
Dig out Barricks toys. And just have lots of fun! During this time it was also Scottys birthday so we celebrated by eating chocolate pudding given our circumstances that is as good as it got. Then when Scottys parents came out they watched the kids and we went and saw Avatar. I have to say that was the best movie I have seen in a long time, and to finally go out and be together was long over due! We had such a fun time!

Then it was Valentines day and I was lucky enough to spend it with my favorite people.
These are two of my four Valentines. Aren't I lucky!! We had to have our Valentines breakfast, heart pancakes and of course everything pink!

To make it even better it was Liam's and Lilly's first day of church.
Here is Liam looking as handsome as ever! Here is our pretty little Lilly.
We had to get one with all of the kids. Don't they look so cute!!
Then that night we had Barricks Valentines cake. Yummy!! So, finally life is back to normal and hopefully will stay that way for a while.

First Baths and Visit from "Shash"

This last weekend after my mom went home my sister Ashtyn was able to come out to visit and we had a BLAST!! Barrick absolutely loved spending time with her and still asks for her. As you can see by the title he called her Shash and we have heard him say her name all week long since she left! Thanks so much Ash for coming out and helping out with the kids! We had such a great time and there is nothing better then to have family loving on your kiddos when we aren't around family, so thank you so much!

Barrick holding the babies.
This was taken today of our little Lilly. You can't tell in this picture but it looks like both her and Liam have blue eyes! Crazy since I have brown and Scotty has hazel.
Here is Liams latest picture! Doesn't he look just like Scotty!
Here is Ashtyn and I before we left to take her to the airport.

Ashtyn with both of the babies.
Here are the babies nice and clean after their first real bath. Don't you love the cute matching outfits Grandma Stewart sent!

Last, a cute picture of Ashtyn and Barrick after a morning jog!

Thanks again Ashtyn for coming out it meant so much to us! We love you!

Liam comes home and Christmas!

Well it has been a crazy two weeks but Liam is finally home!! He was discharged Monday afternoon and we are all so happy! Oddly enough he came home on the day of my scheduled C section so he must of had it in his head that the 11th was the day. We just feel so blessed that he had such great medical staff taking care of him. We met so many wonderful people and can't thank them enough for taking care of our little buddy.

Here they are today, I took these two pictures before I took them to there two week check up.

Here are all three kids getting ready for bed.
I like this picture because you can see how much bigger Liam is then Lilly.

A cute close up of there faces.

This was there first time being back together since they were inside of me. As you can see they were very hungry!

Here they are when we brought them home.

Barrick meeting Liam for the first time. Barrick wasn't aloud to go in the NICU with the H1N1 so he didn't meet him until he was discharged. It was cute when we brought Liam out Barrick finally understood what we had been telling him for nine months, and he immediately said "two babies" and started laughing.
Liam being unhooked from all of the monitors.
Barrick after playing in the snow with dad.
A cute close up of our little Lilly.

I realized we don't have many pictures of Scotty and I with the babies so here are some of us with Lilly when we were going home.

We also missed our Christmas post, which Christmas was so amazing! I was so grateful that I was able to be home with Scotty and Barrick.

Christmas Eve we spent with our the friends the Caffees and the Bahrs, and it was such a fun night!! We had a yummy dinner and fun night just enjoying each others company.

Here are the kids doing story of Christmas.

Here they all are in there new Christmas pjs.

Here is Barrick giving Jackson kisses.

Here is our whole family in our Christmas PJS.

Here is both Scotty and I with our little buddy on Christmas!

Christmas night we went to Virginia to Aunt Trina and Uncle Stuart's house and we had such a fun night! We love spending time with them and had yummy food and great company! Here is Barrick with a pair of glasses that he found at there house!

Sorry, Christmas was out of order, but Christmas morning was so fun Barrick was spoiled with lots of gifts and we had so much fun playing and opening presents! Here is Barrick's pancakes that Scotty made for him.

Here is Barrick on his new bike that Gma and Gpa Nelson gave him.

Here is Barrick playing with his favorite gift, his Lightning Mcqueen tent.

Thank you everyone for all the nice comments and support this last few weeks, we love you all!

Twins!

First we need to apologize for the long time between posts, we have been a little busy! Our Christmas post will have to wait until we get more time, we need to get some pictures of the babies up. So here is the story:

Aleese was hospitalized on Dec 15 for pre-term labor. She spent 6 days at NNMC in Bethesda and was released after they were able to calm her down (only took them 6 days haha). She spent the next few days about as miserable as I have ever seen her! She was very itchy and uncomfortable but was still a good sport about Christmas.

On the 26th she went in for a check-up and was once again hospitalized for possible pre-eclampsia. She had been feeling dizzy and had funny changes in her vision and her blood pressure was through the roof! So she spent another night in the hospital. Barrick and I went to pick her up on the 27th and while we were there her doctor told her she should spend one more night just to be safe. She cried. Yeeeah, she was bawling. Who could blame her? She spent 8 days of her Christmas break in the hospital worrying about her two children at home making a mess of things!! But it was a good thing she stayed one more night!

She called me at 2:00 AM on the 28th. Her exact words were "Scotty get in here now! I am bleeding and going to have these babies!" Sooo, I called a friend to come sleep on the couch and listen for Barrick while I drove to Bethesda. Two hours later......

Lilly Anne Stewart came first, 4:28 AM weighing 4 lbs 13 oz. Following her was Liam Walter Stewart at 4:32 weighing 6 lbs 3 oz. Initially they were both doing fine but then Liam started having a difficult time breathing. They were both taken to the NICU but Lilly was given back to us a few hours later. So I will start with Liam.

Liam Walter Stewart

Most of Liam's pictures were taken with cell phones since we didn't take the camera into the NICU with us. He was put on CPAP and after two days of little improvement was given surfactant. He is currently eating fine but still needs high flow oxygen.

What a cute kid!

His first good eyes open picture

Liam on CPAP, guess he wanted to wear a Darth Vadar mask like his Grandpa Stewart (wink wink!)

Most recent picture of Liam, taken Jan 1st

Lilly Anne Stewart

Since coming home Lilly has been eating well and is just a joy to have. She is a little more needy than either of the boys have seemed to be, especially when she is not getting the attention she thinks she deserves!

Grandma Nelson was able to come out and help. Lilly loves to cuddle her Grandma!

As you can see Barrick loves his baby sister! He was hesitant at first, but now he hugs her every chance he gets!

This morning we found Barrick lying next to Lilly watching TV. Now we just need Liam to come home so all the kids can hang out together!
