Lions, Tigers, and Bears and 9 months!!

Well our little Barrick is now nine months old and wow how time flies! We just happened to plan a day to the zoo with a bunch of friends on the same day, so what a day to celebrate! All though before I get to the zoo I want to write a little about Barrick.

Top five things Barricks loves:

1-Mommy's hair (he treats it like it is his blanket)

2-Bath time!! I am amazed at how crazy he gets in the bath he always has energy but he is a different child in the bath and I love it!

3-When daddy comes home from school. By the end of the day he is ready to be with his dad, and there is nothing I love more then to watch them play together.

4-Outdoors. Every morning we go jogging is about the only time he will just sit and be content. He loves it outside whenever he is having a sad day, I just have to take him outside and he is suddenly okay.

5-Air vents. As silly as that may sound this is one of his favorites he plays on them all day long! He knows where they are in every single room he just loves to sit on them and feel the air blow him.

His not so favorite things.

1-Vacuum- Barrick is terrified of this every time I turn it on he crawls as fast as he can the other way. It is just the loud noise so once it has been going a while he is fine.

2-Being held for too long. Which makes church days very hard!

3-Getting dressed. He loves being naked once he is free of a diaper and clothes he leaves my sight as fast as possible! Like a bath he is out of control when he is naked so once those clothes go back on he is not a happy camper.

5-Teeth. I know all babies don't like this but it is pretty sad to see them in pain I just hate it!

Well as far as the zoo went things were GREAT! There were nine moms and eleven kids and it was such a fun day. We all rode the metro down and what a sight to see a huge caravan of mommies. That is definitely something you rarely see our here. The kids were great and it was nice for all of us to get out.

Here is Barrick watching the ostriches he loved these because they were close enough for him to see. Here is one of Barrick and I in front of the flamingos.

Here is most of us, minus me Diana and Jenni. Thanks for the fun day!

On a side note Barrick Finally took a bottle for the first time since he was two months old!! I was completely shocked I have tried at least once a week since he was born and he has refused!! So I could not believe it! Also he stood by himself yesterday. I was helping him stand then he just let go and stood for atleast 10-15 seconds. He did it a couple of times last night. WOW he is really growing up!

Nationals Game!

Last night Scotty I went to the Washington Nationals game. It was such a fun night and we had such a blast! With school in full swing and Scotty being very busy it is nice to be able to have a night out. There is nothing better then a cool night being at a sporting event and eating nummy food!! Unfortunately they lost but it was still such a fun night! Here is Scotty and I at the game!

One thing that amazed me is the size of the stadium and that it is right downtown. Driving around DC you think there is no room but sure enough we walked in and here it was! Also thanks Todd and Emily for the tickets they were Todds birthday present and they couldn't use them so we were the lucky ones who got to go! And of course we couldn't have gone without babysitters. Ashley and Nate were nice enough to come to our house and put Easton down at our house so Barrick could have a good nights sleep! Aren't friends the greatest!! Thanks guys!

Also on a side note, Barrick has literally been teething forever!!! It seemed like forever before those darn teeth came down, but sure enough last week his little bottom tooth popped out and this morning there was another, so our little guy no longer has just a gummy smile. I couldn't get a picture of his teeth very well so this will have to do.

Picture Tag!

Rules of the tag: Go to your picture file, find the fourth folder and pick the fourth picture in it. Explain a little bit about the picture. Post. Tag others. :)This was Barricks first day of church. He was exactly seven weeks old when we took him so it had been a long time since he was born and still his clothes drowned him. Having a winter baby and with him being early and tiny, they didn't want me to risk him getting sick. So that is why we had to wait so long. This was such a fun day, I was a little stir crazy and ready to get out! Also this is when Barricks hair started growing back in, he had lost the hair just on the very top of his head, so the rest of it was thick and long. It was funny to look at the pictures from this day because there was one of him from the back and it looked like a different baby.

Visit from Gpa and Brookside Gardens!

Well as you can see Grandpa came in town!! We are so lucky to be able to have my dad come and visit so often and Barrick loves it as you can see by the picture! It was so fun!! We went to dinner and spent the night together last Wednesday. Then Thursday my dad came up and we had breakfast together, then went and ran some errands and got lunch at Panera. It was so fun to be able to spend time together. Barrick loves his grandpa and they had so much fun playing together!

Here is Barrick and Grandpa!
While he was in town he bought Barrick some new shirts and this is one of them which again Daddy has a matching one. So here are my boys in there matching shirts. Thanks Gma and Gpa for the new clothes!
Then today we went to Brookside Gardens and we had such a fun time. There were five of us who all went together with our kids and it was so nice to get out of the house and spend sometime with friends. Here is Barrick and I in the Butterfly exhibit. He was very excited about the Butterflies, they were flying all over and Barrick kept trying to grab them he LOVED it!!
Here is Barrick trying to grab anything and everything he could get his hands on.
Here is Barrick and Lucy after we came out of the butterfly exhibit! Aren't they cute! It was such a neat place they had a fragrance garden and a rose garden it was beautiful and nice to get out! Thanks for the fun day!

On the move!

I just wanted to do a little update on life and tell a little about what is going on. As far as Barrick goes WOW he has learned so much in the last few weeks. Before we left Utah he was crawling a little bit but would stay in a small area. Just the last little while he is all over the place! He pulls himself up on anything and everything. His favorite is the bathroom, he will go in and sit on the air vent and just laughs, he loves the cold air! Then once he is done with that he stands up on the toilet then will walk himself over to the tub. Then sits and screams because he wants to get in the bath. I can tell already he is going to be just as active as his dad! (which scares me a little) He is also very loud he talks all day long! He is a little chatter box. Which I can't blame him because with Scotty and I as parents he needs to be very vocal in order to get a word in. I am just loving being home with Barrick and spending our days together.

Here is Barrick in bed supposedly taking a nap. Now with his new found freedom it takes a while to wind him down. Without fail the second I lay him down he flips over sits up and pulls himself up and starts laughing at me. He thinks sleeping is some kind of game. Then he will just sit in his room and talk and laugh until he wares himself out.

Here is Barrick climbing on the table this kept him busy for a while which was nice because he was in my view the whole time I was making dinner! Here is one from the back and one from the front. Of course he thought it was pretty funny so he was laughing at me.

Also school for Scotty is going great! He has done really well on all of the quizes and is enjoying the material much more this year. Overall school is wonderful and we feel so blessed to be where we are. Here is a picture of Scotty and Barrick before he left for school. I thought they looked cute in there matching camo. Don't mind his messy hair in the pictures he had just woken up in all of them. I promise I do his hair.

HOME!

Well we are home and what a busy two weeks. We came home to a broken air conditioning, two broken cars, and a list a mile long of things to do before the dreaded second year started but we are for the most part caught up! Thankfully I made some extra money choreographing in Utah (thanks to Ashtyn) so that pretty much covered the bill. It would have been nice to put some more money in savings but we are just grateful we didn't have to take any out!

Scotty started school Monday and I already feel like we are in the thick of things. I am just glad we have one year done!

Barrick is a little busy body!!! Only eight months old and he is on the move all day long. While in Utah he learned to crawl and for a while now he has been trying to pull himself up on furniture and he has accomplished his goal. He gets a little scared when he is standing because he can't figure out how to get down by himself, but it is too cute!
Here are a couple shots of our busy little guy. Isn't he such a cute little thing!

The Last of our Utah Trip!!

Well the last of our amazing vacation is over. We had a great time thanks to our families and friends! Barrick and I left Maryland June 25 and got back August 19 so as you can imagine it was packed full of a lot of activities! Scotty was out in Utah here and there but WOW what an amazing trip. So this post like my last two have a lot of pictures! We just want to thank our families for letting us invade their homes, steal their cars and put up with us for so long. We love you guys and you made this one memorable summer!

One nice thing about this summer was being able to get together with friends we wish we could have seen more but it was still great! The top picture is with our friends Frank and Heather and their two kids CC and Max (now three including Samson who is such a cutie). Thanks for lunch and the fun Sunday with your family! The second picture is with my friends from childhood, we have been friends for about 20 years. I love these girls! And also congrats to Chelsey she got married why I was there and it was so neat to be able to be there and share in such a special day!

We were also able to go to the County fair with my family. We had such a fun day with petting the animals, making balloons and my favorite eating the food!
Barrick petting the animals with Scotty.
As you can see he loved it!
I loved this because he kept wanting to pet Karder his cousin all day long he thought he should be able to pet him too!

Barrick and I in the kids tent he loved everything in here!
This is Barrick with his two cousins Kylee and Braelynn. They took him to see the clown and make a motorcycle balloon. He loved the clowns hair he couldn't stop starring at it until of course he got his balloon. This entertained him for over an hour!

We were also able to have a couple of boating trips with both the Nelson family and Stewart family together. It was an absolute BLAST!! Barrick was an angel he loved the beach, the water, and loved the boat he just HATED his life jacket he felt so constrained. But other then that he was as happy as can be.
Here is a picture with Barrick, his cousins, and his aunts and uncles. While we were out there Barrick got spoiled with loves he was always being entertained and held and loved. I am going to miss seeing him with all of our family.

I just loved this picture I just thought he looked so cute!
Along with being spoiled with hugs and loves he was spoiled with food, everytime I left him I came back to him with some kind of food. as you can see he had an oreo and he loved it!!!
More loves from his Aunt Leslee!
Here is Barrick with his cousin Addy she had been making him laugh for about twenty minutes. Don't ask me how after a long day of boating and about a 15 minute nap he can still be this happy.
Here is Scotty with Eldon and Kendrick showing off their muscles.
Of course Barrick and his true love of life water bottles. But in this case he couldn't decide between the two so Gpa Stewart gave him both.
Here is one with Barrick and his Grandma Stewart playing in the water. He loved it! All though these boating days were long Barrick was an absolute angel and thanks to my dad who had the magic touch of getting Barrick to sleep for at least a little while the days turned out amazing! (If anyone has a picture of Barrick falling asleep with my dad I would like a copy)
Here is a fun day at the park with Barrick and some of his cousins.

We also had a fun Lagoon day with everyone on my Florence side of the family. It was a blast! Barrick loved being with all of his cousins and especially loved riding the Merry go round!

Last these two pictures were of our last day in Utah where my mom planned a special day out with just the girls which was so fun! Then that night we met with our parents for some dinner at Hyers! You can't leave Utah without going to Hyers and what better company then out parents! We love you guys and thanks again for such an amazing trip!
