Back to Utah and 4 months!

Well this last week I was able to go home to Utah because my sister Ashtyn is getting married and she wanted me there to help with wedding plans. So first of all congrats to Ashtyn and Morgan they are getting married this summer and I am so excited for them!

I arrived on Tuesday and first of all I was so nervous to fly with a baby I was stressing for weeks in advance but wow I was lucky! On both of my flights there and back I had a whole row to myself and Barrick was perfect! He basically slept the whole time. So thanks everyone for all of the advice on flying with a baby.

Once there we got right to work with wedding plans and it was so fun! Also I had lunch dates and family dinners all week and I got to show our sweet little Barrick off to the rest of our family in Utah. It was packed full, but a BLAST! Here are some pictures from the trip. His aunt Ashtyn and soon to be uncle Morgan, and Barrick. This is at Ogden High School, Ashtyn is the Drill Team coach there, and this was at their year end review.
Brianne and I spent the day together with our little ones. Anisten was home in bed.
Gma and Gpa Nelson with Barrick, thanks for flying me out I had so much fun! I love you guys!
Barrick with some of his cousins. He now only needs to meet his cousins in Iowa and his cousins in Texas. We can't wait!

Barrick with Gma Stewart and Kalii his cousin.
Barrick aunt Leslee and of course Kalii. She loved Barrick she wouldn't leave his side. (so cute)

Great Gma and Gpa Nelson.

Great Grandpa Florence and Pat.

We had so much fun thanks for the wonderful week!

Last, yesterday was Barricks 4 month mark. He went into the Dr. and had his 4 month appt. He is now about 14 lbs. which is the 25 percentile. He is now 50 percentile in his height. Of course he had shots and I hated it but he did a good job. This is right before he went to bed last night and we loved it so we thought we would put it on. Enjoy!

Tagged!

-What were you doing 10 years ago?
Ten years ago I was sixteen and a sophomore in high school. I was dancing all of the time and spending time with my friends every second I could. I had just started hanging out with Scotty and I thought he was a pretty crazy person! (totally opposite of me). I guess in our case total opposites did attract. Our first date, and when we consider us "together" was May 1st my first prom. As far as famiy life I was an aunt to two nieces and two on the way, and I babysat them every chance I got. I was living at home with my little sister Ashtyn, and oldest brother Austin who always gave Scotty a hard time. (Scotty thought he hated him untill we were married almost four years later). He was just being an over protective bother and I love him for that, it kept Scotty on his toes. My other brother Alex was on a mission and of course two married sisters Angie and Ariane. I know all A names. Of course my parents were the best and were always supporting me in everything I did all through High School.

-5 things on my to do list...
1-Clean our cars it has been on my list for a long time!
2-Do my visiting teaching, I am going home next week and wanted to get in done before I left.
3-Clean out my yard. I have started and have the back yard done but not the front. I also want to plant flowers and find out a way to keep the squirrels out of my yard, they dig little holes in my grass and I hate it!
4-Get family pictures and more of Barrick.
5-Buy some more summer clothes I went through a de-cluttering phase before the baby was born and I got rid of a lot of my clothes like three huge garbage bags. So I am in need of some more clothes.

-6 snacks I enjoy...
1-I love granola bars the honey wheat ones they are my favorite!
2-I also love peanut butter M&Ms or any combination of chocolate and PB.
3-Lemon ice cups. I would never have liked these before but because Scotty likes them so much and seeing him eat them all of the time I started to like them, and now I love them.
4-Kettle corn for right now. I always jump back and forth between butter and kettle but as of late it is Kettle.
5-Fudge, this has been my latest dessert kick and it is my dads specialty I love it! I want to make it all the time but I like it melted, it is just the way my family eats it. I think it is because we were too impatient to wait for it to get cold, and it just kind of stuck.
6-All fruits notice that I put it last because if I have any of the other things they will come before it. I love all fruit and if I don't have any I feel like I don't have any food, so I run to the grocery store and end up buying everything else I don't need. Oh well.

-5 places I have lived...
1-Clearfield Ut. (When I was little.)
2-Layton Ut. (From 5 years to marriage.)
3-Syracuse Ut. (When I was first married.)
4-Fruit Heights Ut. (For 3 years of our marriage, and we would love to end up there.)
5-Montgomery Village Md. (We love it!)

5 jobs I have had... I am stretching for 5.
1-Babysitting when I was little. I have to count it because I did it all of the time!
2-Cleaned offices for Melissa Boswells (Bridenstine) dad.
3-Taught tumbling at West productions.
4-Taught dance and tumbling for 6 years at Stars.
5-Mommy to my sweet little Barrick. The BEST job ever.

5 things people may not know about me..
1-When I was little my friends and I knew every word to Saturdays Warriors and we would act it out and sing all of the words. I always had to be the boy because I was the tallest and I could lift up my friends. That part I hated.

2-I slept my way through my adult roles class in High School. I was so tired it was always on B days when I had early morning practice for dance, and she always did over head projectors. So being in a dark room made me fall asleep almost everyday in that class.

3-Since I was a little girl this was the first spring I have not had dance competitions that I either danced in or had girls I taught that competed. I have to say I really miss it! It was a huge part of my life and I am sad it is over. I really miss all of my girls!

4-I know some of you may know this but Scotty was my first kiss. I gave a lot of guys the cheek because I wanted it to be someone I really cared about. It was actually the day after my 17th birthday Scotty was nervous because he really cared about me and didn't want to scare me off. So he waited a long time, and if you knew Scotty before me that was not like him. I love him!

5-I actually was pregnant before Barrick. We did IVF in January of last year and I had a tubal pregnancy they say it is only like a 1-3% chance, but I learned and grew a lot from that experience. It makes me appreciate Barrick even more!

5 people to tag... Heather, Amber, Melissa, Diana, all of my family. I know that is more then five but it will give my family something to post about and I miss them, so give me something to read. haha

Cherry Blossoms!

I love the spring in Maryland. I have been out many times when my brother lived here but never in the Spring and it is beautiful. Everywhere you go there are flowers on the trees and bushes. I love all of the different colors there are white, pink, yellow, purple, all different kinds. I wanted to get out and take some pictures but it has been raining off and on for over a week. We finally got out in between storms and I finally got some pictures. We couldn't go on our full walk because it started to rain so I was disappointed, this doesn't even show how pretty it is. We are fortunate to live right by a big pond where we go walking and I wanted to get pictures over there but these will have to do.

We took these on our way back from our walk. This is a connecting street to our house. I love all of the flowers and the green grass it is so beautiful. Barrick loves it outside he gets so excited whenever I take him out.
Just some more pictures of the trees. Isn't it so PRETTY!

The BEST month ever!

How many people can say they have pictures of their kids when they were an embryo? Well we can!! Seriously this was the BEST month we had last year. After trying to get pregnant for about four years, April 24th of last year was that day.
I just wanted to post and tell everyone how we have been so blessed! I have never been happier then being a mom and wife. I have the most amazing husband who has always made me so happy, he has been the biggest strength to me over the years and I thank my Heavenly Father for him everyday. Also the blessing of being a mom is the most fulfilling thing ever. It was a long road to get our little guy here and we finally have him! We are sent trials that help us grow and this was a big one for us. We had to go through many things to get him and through an amazing program we were able to have him.
Scotty and I had been trying for about a year when we went into the doctor, of course we were normal married students who made enough money to pay for school without going in debt but not enough to pay for infertility treatments. We finally decided we needed better insurance so Scotty got a full time grave yard job at Primary Children's Hospital working in the pharmacy, so we could afford treatments. Not to mention he was going to school full time and preparing to go to medical school which is not an easy task. (He is the BEST I know) After two more years and 10,000 worth of treatments out of our pocket we had nothing left. Then when we were pretty much out of options my sister called me and told me she had talked to a friend about this program, where they pay for most of IVF. (in vitro fertilization). Of course I thought there was no way this was true IVF is very expensive but I called on it and we started to process of qualifying for it. It is called the Miracle fund through the U of U where anonymous donors donate to the program for people just like us. Well after a lengthy process we qualified and we started the process. Even after that is was a bumpy road for us. Scotty and I seem to be the one percent chance in everything. If it could go wrong it did. But sure enough on the 24th of April I got pregnant and found out two weeks later. I just wanted to share a little bit about our experience and just thank all of my family and friends who went through this with us we couldn't have done it without you. Most importantly I want to thank our Heavenly Father, blessings come when you least expect them, and we had many over the years through this process and I thank him everyday.

Here is our little Barrick now. I love him! (he loves to suck on his clothes)

Party!

On Wednesday they had a Spring/Easter party at Scottys school for all of the students and their families and it was so fun! We had lunch which was so nummy, and they had crafts for the kids and an easter egg hunt. That is one thing I love about his school is they involve family in everything! I love it! Here is Barrick at the party. He was hungry and tired so we couldn't get him to smile, but it was a fun afternoon.

Spring Break!

Well this last week was Scottys spring break and we had a blast! We were able to go down the Williamsburg and go to Busch Gardens. It was so much fun! The day was perfect it was seventy five, not to hot and not to cold and we were able ride quite a few rides. Barrick was absolutely amazing he was a perfect angel all day long. Also the park was very family friendly I was very impressed they had a station just for mothers and babies. The building had rooms for nursing mothers with leather chairs and changing tables bottle warmers anything you would need. So the day was ideal!

Here are some fun family pictures we got at the park!

Barrick was so good all day long he didn't cry once at the park! On the way home he was pretty sad because he was hungry and tired but once we got back to our place and he ate he went right down and slept for ten hours straight! I know I am so lucky!

I love this picture of Scotty and Barrick he really turned into a daddy's boy this week with having Scotty around all day everyday!

This is a short video of Barrick at the park we forgot our video camera so it might not be that great.

Scotty and Brady on the Griffin!
Me Lauren and Brady on the Griffin thanks Scotty for sitting this one out!

This was best roller coaster I have ever been on and I have been to a lot of amusment parks! We had so much fun! Also thanks to Brady and Lauren for coming with us and sitting a few of the rides out so Scotty and I could ride a couple of them together!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from Maryland! We had a great day. This was us before we went to church. Check out Barrick's sweet easter threads!

Some more of Barrick in his new Easter outfit.

That night we got together with five other couples in our ward and had dinner, an easter egg rolling race, and an easter egg hunt. This is Barrick and me right after the hunt.

Here is mommy lookin' smokin' hot like always! She is so overprotective of Barrick, I love it.

Barrick loves taking a bath in the big tub. We had to be careful to sensor these, but you can tell how happy he was!
